The day has arrived, you had a romantic dinner, a million lovely details, and at the end of the evening, they asked for your hand in marriage. Congratulations! Everyone applauded, you proudly showed off that beautiful hand with that gorgeous ring, and you shed the most tender tears of happiness anyone has ever seen. Love won that night. But now what? A thousand doubts run through your mind: Do I want a daytime wedding? Nighttime? Luxury? Beachfront? Traditional? Aaaaaah! Don't worry; with some calm, we can figure it all out. Here are some tips from a certified and experienced Wedding Planner on what to do after saying "Yes, I will."
I'm Ximena Marín, a certified Wedding Planner with experience in all types of weddings. Love is what drives me to do my job, and I want brides and grooms from all over the world to share some of my tips to make their day the most special.
Do you have a budget?
The first step, of course, is to check your finances. Whether you and your partner will cover the costs together or if your family traditionally takes care of expenses, you need to have a minimum budget to start making your plans.
Where do we want to get married?
Now that we have a budget, we can be more realistic about the location of our wedding. Do we want a destination wedding? Does this mean fewer guests since not everyone can afford flights? Now we must think as a couple. What is our dream? Where do we want our "happily ever after" to begin? Do we want a big wedding with lots of guests or something intimate with our closest loved ones? All these questions about the location must be resolved between the couple because you two should be the happiest on that day. To achieve this, we must make sure that everything you dreamed of comes true.
Hiring a Wedding Planner?
Do you want to hire a Wedding Planner or not? Will you take at least one or two meetings with some of them to see if they convince you or not at all? Whatever the case, this is the point where you should or shouldn't meet with your Wedding Planner.
Choosing the style and theme
This step is essential to give personality to your wedding. Do you dream of a romantic beach wedding at sunset, or do you prefer an elegant celebration at a beautiful hacienda? Are you leaning towards a rustic, bohemian, vintage, or modern theme? The choice of style and theme will influence every aspect of the wedding, from color selection to decoration and music.
To find the right inspiration, you can explore wedding magazines, Pinterest, and other online sources. It's also important to consider both of your tastes and personalities since the wedding should reflect who you are as a couple. Once you've decided on the style and theme, you can move forward with planning, having a clear vision of how you want your special day to be. Take advantage of this opportunity to make your wedding truly unique and meaningful for you and your partner!
Remember that this is the beginning of an exciting journey towards your wedding day.
